We suggest the following:

  1. Purchase/Create Activation Codes
The order desk employee logs in and clicks the "Create" tab to create one or more activation code(s) for the installer.  An email containing activation codes is automaticaly sent to the installer, and a copy sent to the order desk employee.  The order desk employee should check their inbox to make sure the activation code email was delivered successfully. The installer will forward ONE of the activation codes they received in the email to their end user (who is going to use the software).
  2. Preferred Automatic Licensing Procedure (end users's computer is online)
Install the software package on the end users' machine. When prompted, they will enter the activation code they received in the email.  A license key file (*.LIC) will be created on the server, specifically for that user's computer. The client software will automatically download the LIC file from the server. The software should now be fully licensed.  There is no need to go to Step #3.
  3. Abnormal Manual Licensing Procedure (only if there connectivity issues or problems in Step #2)
Install the software package on the end users' machine. Get the end users' HOSTID from their computer (provided by the application) and enter it in the 'Offline' tab to create the LIC key file. The license key file (*.LIC) is created on the server and automatically emailed as an attachment to the installer, and a copy sent to the order desk employee.  The end user saves the LIC key file to their hard drive in the appropriate folder for the specific software package they are manually activating.
